Traveler Programs in Cuba


There is an embargo between the U.S. and Cuba and tourist travel is prohibited. This applies to: all Americans; those subject to U.S. jurisdiction; and anyone traveling via the U.S directly to Cuba. CPS Travels complies with all OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) regulations and we update our trips as changes are issued. Travel to Cuba must fall under one of the following 12 General License categories:

Categories of Legal Travel

  1. Family Visits
  2. Official business of the U.S./foreign governments, and intergovernmental organizations
  3. Journalistic activities
  4. Professional research and professional meetings
  5. Educational activities
  6. Religious activities
  7. Support for the Cuban people
  8. Humanitarian activities
  9. Activities of private foundations or research/educational institutes
10. Exportation, importation, or transmission of information or informational materials
11. Certain authorized export transactions
12. People-to-People - Effective June 9, 2022: Groups allowed under the auspices of organizations subject to U.S. jurisdiction

DOCUMENTS NEEDED FOR TRAVEL TO CUBA:
  U.S. BORN:

    • U.S. passport (valid for at least six (6) months after your trip)
    • Cuba Visa/Tourist Card

 CUBAN BORN:

  All Cuban-born citizens need to apply for a Cuban passport. It usually takes around 3-4 months.
